Our Story

Ober Lopez Mazariegos &
OLM Leatherwork

We’re Vermont-and-Mexican-born, down to earth, utilitarian folks with a love for well-made, well-worn stuff that lasts a lifetime and looks good doing it. If we can’t find what we want, we figure out a way to make it. It was for this reason that OLM Leatherwork was born.

OLM is Ober Lopez Mazariegos, the hands and vision behind every piece we make. Born on a coffee plantation in the mountains of Chiapas, Mexico, Ober has called the Green Mountain State home for over 16 years. His wife Abbie Senesac Lopez, a Vermont native, provides the necessary creative, organizational and technical, behind-the-scenes support (as well as happily modeling every product Ober makes).

All our goods are made in our home workshop in Essex, Vermont, where we live with our many four-legged family members, several of whom have served as the inspiration for our products. The rest have come from an unfilled need or an idea born on some mountain peak or deep wooded trail – you’re likely to find us in either location when we’re not tending to the day-to-day grind.

Life is short – live it to the fullest.

Con mucha gratitud,

Ober & Abbie
